Using Insights Discovery to Understand Your Blindspots
We all have blindspots and we can all benefit from being more aware of them and consciously working on them, in the words of Pearl Zhu ‘It can be an integral part of the business, by identifying the blind spots and close the gaps’. Blindspots are the area of our personality that live in the shadows, we least undersand them and are less able to conscioiusly relate to them.
We are not always aware of the effect our less conscious behaviours have on other, these blindspots are predictable but unconscious aspects of our total self.
Insights Discovery profiles enable you to explore your blindspots, which at times can be uncomfortable depending on our existing self-awareness, there are three ways you can use Insights Discovery to work on your blind spots:
- Increase your self-awareness
- Embrace your shadow
- Truth telling
When do blindspots appear?
These unconscious blindspots can surface in several circumstances which we can use the abbreviation HALTS for:
- Hungry
- Angry
- Lonely
- Tires
- Stressed
At Churchill Square Training & Development we can use your Insights Discovery profile to identify your blindspots, understand what they are and how they surface in the workplace. We can identify trigger points and then learn how to embrace them, improve your effectiveness and reframe your weaknesses.
